THC edibles: how they work and how much to take
THC edibles are foods and drinks with cannabis in them, such as weed gummies, chocolate and syrups. You eat or drink them, so there is no smoke and no smell.
Edibles work slowly, and they take 30 minutes to 2 hours to kick in. Then the high can last 4 to 8 hours, which is much longer than smoking. Most bad edible stories start with eating more too soon.
Start low, go slow
If you are new to edibles, start with 5 mg of THC or less. Many regular users take about 10 mg. Wait at least two hours before you take any more.
Read the label
The big number on the pack is usually the THC in the whole pack. Find out how much is in one piece before you eat it. A 100 mg pack with 10 pieces has 10 mg in each piece.
Strong packs are for splitting
Many of our packs hold a lot of THC, and they are not meant to be eaten all at once. Cut the pieces into small bits and spread them over many days.
Common questions
How long do edibles take to kick in?
Most take 30 minutes to 2 hours. If you feel nothing after two hours, stop for the day and try a little more the next time.
Should I eat a meal first?
A small meal helps. On an empty stomach, edibles can hit faster and harder, while with food they come on slower and last longer.
How should I store edibles?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dark place. They look just like normal treats, so lock them away from kids and pets.
